Hey all. I'm doing this debate thing in science class. There were four topics and for and against for each topic. My group was given the statement: There should be nno restriction on the use of embryonic cells for medical research. Personally, I think it's sort of wrong because your killling a developing being to save someone else's life, but on the other hand I wish there was some sort of way to use embryonic stem bells for research without hurting the embrio.
LostGirl god topic.. I do know that the use of ESC is extremely haphazard and in many cases the risks, far outweigh the benfits. Plus, the outcome cannot be guaranteed. However I do feel that with more research and less hurry, ESC's will be the way forward, but sadly there are far too many desperate people, and an equal number of unscrupulous Doctors, willing to profit from suffering.
You think? What do u mean escapes though?
Yes I have a friend who is a medical student he want's to specialise in stem cells.Escapes?..Ohh right I was abbreivating for embryonic stem cells your screen reader must have been having an off day...
lol probably
Human life is sacred in any form and there is no excuse for distroying it. I did hear about the use of the cells from the umbilical cord for research. These cells have cured many burn victems and other people too because they are the same brand new cells from babies who have already been born.
I don't see anything wrong with it.
Well, what about the embryo from someone who had an abortion? If a woman decides to do it, she might as well give up her unborn child for the greater good. I see nothing wrong about using stem cell research when using stem cell's from someone's own body.
One of my friends is a scientist. He said he had the knowledge to clone certain things and that that knowledge scared him. What would hold people back from just creating a clone?
